CHOICES

Psalm 16:5
“My choice is you, God, first and only.
“My choice is you, God, first and only.
And now I find I’m your choice! “
Choices………
“Life is full of choices”..how I wish I had a dime for each time I have repeated this phrase to my sons, friends, coworkers, husband…etc.
Even the demons begged Jesus for their choice as seen in the story of The Healing of a Possessed Man in
Luke 9: 26-39, and He graciously granted their request. From reading this passage of scripture I am moved.
Convicted.
Concerned.
Relieved.
Renewed.
Wondering how many choices I have made in my life that might have been better and of course potentially worse.
As I have learned through the years and “school of hard knocks” we choose, we grow, we learn, we pay, and we are groomed by choices. Every choice made leads us to a destination. We face them every day, every moment..get up, get dressed, vote, exercise, be happy or not.
In perusing the Internet I came across a few quotes to share regarding choices:
Zig Ziglar: “Every choice you make has an end result.”
Unknown Author: “Happiness or unhappiness is often a matter of choice.”
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross: “I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime.”
Oprah Winfrey: “Right now you are one choice away from a new beginning - one that leads you toward becoming the fullest human being you can be.”
Buddy Hackett: “My mother’s menu consisted of two choices: Take it or leave it.”
How gracious God is when it comes to the abundant freedom HE has given us in making our own choices. He did not create us as robots He created us as living breathing humans, His Masterpiece, designed in His Image. (Ephesians 2:10)
We are God’s Sovereign Choice. His word does not fail (Romans 9:6) and He chooses us all Jew and Gentile.
Is He unjust? Absolutely not. (Romans 9:14)
I know I require God’s never ending grace and compassion upon the choices I make 24 x 7. Simply: will it be Coke? or Diet Coke? Seriously: how will I make my choices today that will impact not only my desire of the moment but eternity? And how will I answer His calling and choose to serve the King of the universe today, tomorrow or never?
Will you accept the love and freedom God has given?
The choice is yours.
Any other is just slavery.

Thanks Lisa… and welcome back. I am reminded of the words of Stephen Covey… not an exact quote, but he says that when we pick up the stick of choice, whether we know it or not, we also pickup the other end of the stick; consequences. If we choose based on what we want now, instead of where we want to go, we will often find the results are not what we really wanted.
I choose freedom… Lord, help me choose wisely
AMEN my dear friend!
Thank you for your words of wisdom–You inspire me!!
Blessings,
Lisa
Hi Lisa -
These are beautiful sentiments and amazing ways to describe the many types of love and beauty that are right there in front of us. Yet none of these touch the amazing love and beauty that is offered to us through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!
Keep on writing and touching hearts and lives through your blog.
Debbie
