TRUE LOVE

It is Valentine’s Day and today I am thankful…..

I am filled with joy and gratitude from the love others demonstrate in my life who show me LOVE.

The Bible tells us that “God is LOVE” 1 John 4:16.  With that stated how do we know or experience this LOVE?  It is through others…if it weren’t for the people filling my life day in and day out to shine His Love, how would I feel it? 

How can I a faulted human being feel His amazing LOVE?

Prior to being in true relationship with Jesus–I always thought LOVE was very conditional….IF I did nice things or performed good deeds I would experience LOVE.  Others would LOVE me for my acts to please them……

God’s Love is very different…His LOVE is unconditional, so no matter what I do or fail to do HE loves me, and He loves you too!  My prayer in writing this blog is that you will have and remember the people in your life who SHOWER God’s Love on you!

Today I was infused with God’s Love through others….

The phone call from my son Matt to say Happy Valentine’s Day and to chit chat about all the things happening in his life and his desire to hear about what I was up to…..Sweet Son LOVE.

The chocolate covered strawberry, my favorite scented soaps and rose from my Hubby and his words of gratitude for having a wife like me and his tender words of how beautiful I am to him always…Honey LOVE.

The visit from my Mom today to bring me gracious gifts of goodies and HUGE surprises just because I am her daughter and she chooses to share her life treasures with me…Mother LOVE.

The phone call from my walking buddy Sandy who always has a minute to stop and say HI–do you need anything today?  What can I do to help?…….Servant’s Heart LOVE.

The e-cards from my sweet sister-in-Christ, Cinthia, who goes out of her way to brighten mine and expects nothing in return. She cares deeply and always with an empathetic ear….Compassionate LOVE.

The men in our couples group who after working a long, hard day all took the time to bring roses and dinner tonight to share a very special Valentine’s Day so the girls did not have to cook…MAN LOVE.

From my dearest friends and mentors who say…it is good to hear your voice, and let’s spend time together, let’s do coffee or lunch, I miss you………BUDDY LOVE.

From my loyal fur friends who always greet me with big wagging tails, slobbery kisses, and speed lightening running at the slightest whisper of my voice……DOGGY LOVE.

God shows us HIS Love through so many ways the list is endless…. He satisfies us each uniquely to fill our love tanks.  As the Beatles wrote:  ALL You Need is LOVE…it is true..God agrees He tells us in His Word that the greatest of all things is LOVE.
